Into the great unknown.

We just landed in Washington D.C. after our red eye flight out of Denver. We are pretty worn out from all of the travel over the past two weeks (as I write this Nelson is sleeping on the airport floor). That being said, I apologize in advance for any spelling or grammatical errors following. : ]

I think maybe it’s finally setting in that we aren’t just on vacation from our ‘normal’ life in Boise, ID. We were waiting and waiting to see when this would actually start to feel real. It’s definitely real…and we couldn’t be more excited.

I am in such anticipation to see what Nelson thinks of Uganda. We arrive around noon on Friday 7/15. I can’t wait for him to see what I’ve been trying to explain to him over the past two years. I can’t wait for him to meet the children and people who stole my heart three years ago when I arrived in Uganda for the first time. I can’t wait for him to meet our incredible staff at our Field of Dreams base. There is just so much to share and I am SO blessed to be able to finally share this with my best friend.

I know that we have many new followers to our blog so I thought I would share a little more about what we are doing and where we will be.

WHO ARE WE WORKING WITH? We are traveling to Uganda to work with Show Mercy International. I would encourage you to check out their website to learn more about the organization. I (Bethany) have worked with Show Mercy since September of 2013 after serving on a 3 month internship with them in Uganda. We are so blessed to have this opportunity to serve with them for the next 6 (isn) months. VIEW SMI’S WEBSITE NOW
